Inductor Market Size in MENA

The MENA's inductor market fell to $X in 2022, declining by -3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, consumption, however, posted a buoyant increase. The level of consumption peaked at $X in 2021, and then shrank modestly in the following year.

Inductor Production in MENA

In value terms, inductor production fell slightly to $X in 2022 estimated in export price. In general, production, however, posted buoyant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 60% against the previous year. The level of production peaked at $X in 2019; afterwards, it flattened through to 2022.

Inductor Exports

Exports in MENA

Inductor exports surged to X units in 2022, jumping by 24% against 2021 figures. Total exports indicated measured growth from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports decreased by -15.4% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 79% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X units. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, inductor exports rose remarkably to $X in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +1.6% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 51%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

In 2022, Tunisia (X units) represented the largest exporter of inductors, comprising 60% of total exports. Turkey (X units) held the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by Morocco (X units). All these countries together took approx. 27% share of total exports. Saudi Arabia (X units), Israel (X units) and the United Arab Emirates (X units) took a little share of total exports.

Exports from Tunisia increased at an average annual rate of +3.5% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Morocco (+35.2%) and Turkey (+21.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Morocco emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in MENA, with a CAGR of +35.2% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Saudi Arabia (-5.9%), the United Arab Emirates (-8.3%) and Israel (-15.0%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Turkey (+18 p.p.), Tunisia (+7.6 p.p.) and Morocco (+5.5 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Israel saw its share reduced by -5.5%, -6.3% and -19.7% from 2012 to 2022, respectively.

In value terms, Tunisia ($X) remains the largest inductor supplier in MENA, comprising 54% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Israel ($X), with a 22% share of total exports. It was followed by Morocco, with an 11% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Tunisia totaled +2.6%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Israel (-3.7% per year) and Morocco (+15.9% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The export price in MENA stood at $X per unit in 2022, reducing by -10.3% against the previous year. In general, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when the export price increased by 18%. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the maximum at $X per unit in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Israel ($X per unit), while Turkey (less than $X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Israel (+13.3%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Inductor Imports

Imports in MENA

In 2022, the amount of inductors imported in MENA totaled X units, surging by 5.6% on the year before. Total imports indicated a tangible increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +79.9% against 2016 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by 38% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.

In value terms, inductor imports stood at $X in 2022. Total imports indicated a moderate increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.7% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +45.5% against 2018 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 21%. The level of import peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

Imports by Country

Turkey was the key importing country with an import of around X units, which finished at 47% of total imports. It was distantly followed by the United Arab Emirates (X units), Israel (X units), Egypt (X units) and Iraq (X units), together comprising a 36% share of total imports. Kuwait (X units), Tunisia (X units) and Iran (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Imports into Turkey increased at an average annual rate of +11.2% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Kuwait (+19.2%), Egypt (+10.2%), Israel (+4.2%), Iraq (+3.5%) and the United Arab Emirates (+3.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Kuwait emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in MENA, with a CAGR of +19.2% from 2012-2022. Tunisia experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Iran (-12.8%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Turkey (+21 p.p.), Kuwait (+2.9 p.p.) and Egypt (+2.3 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2022, the share of Tunisia (-2.3 p.p.), the United Arab Emirates (-3.1 p.p.) and Iran (-13.3 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Turkey ($X), Israel ($X) and the United Arab Emirates ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, with a combined 59% share of total imports. Tunisia, Iran, Iraq, Egypt and Kuwait lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 17%.

In terms of the main importing countries, Kuwait, with a CAGR of +10.6%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The import price in MENA stood at $X per unit in 2022, falling by -2.2% against the previous year. In general, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 16% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Israel ($X per unit), while Egypt (less than $X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Iran (+16.0%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
