Exports by Country
Turkey represented the main exporting country with an export of about X units, which accounted for 61% of total exports. Morocco (X units) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a 20% share, followed by Israel (18%).
Exports from Turkey increased at an average annual rate of +17.5% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Morocco (+47.5%) and Israel (+15.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Morocco emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in MENA, with a CAGR of +47.5% from 2012-2021. While the share of Morocco (+17 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2021, the share of Israel (-5.8 p.p.) and Turkey (-6.6 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.
In value terms, Turkey ($X), Israel ($X) and Morocco ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2021, with a combined 97% share of total exports.
Turkey, with a CAGR of +22.0%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the export price in MENA amounted to $X per unit, shrinking by -5.7% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when the export price increased by 22% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Israel ($X per unit), while Morocco ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey (+3.9%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

In 2021, approx. X units of industrial robots for multiple uses were imported in MENA; picking up by 36% against 2020 figures. In general, imports recorded a buoyant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when imports increased by 58% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
In value terms, industrial robot imports surged to $X in 2021. Total imports indicated a noticeable increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.0% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +111.8% against 2015 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 29%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in years to come.
Imports by Country
Morocco (X units) and Turkey (X units) prevails in imports structure, together committing 86% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Iran (X units), creating a 4.6% share of total imports. The following importers - the United Arab Emirates (X units) and Israel (X units) - each amounted to a 4.3% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for the United Arab Emirates (with a CAGR of +16.5%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest industrial robot importing markets in MENA were Turkey ($X), Morocco ($X) and Israel ($X), with a combined 76% share of total imports. The United Arab Emirates and Iran lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 7.4%.
Among the main importing countries, the United Arab Emirates, with a CAGR of +14.6%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in MENA stood at $X per unit in 2021, which is down by -5.4% against the previous year. Overall, the import price recorded a perceptible shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 43%. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Israel ($X per unit), while Iran ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Israel (+10.4%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the import price figures.
