Turkey represented the major exporting country with an export of about X tons, which amounted to 40% of total exports. Tunisia (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a 21% share, followed by Morocco (16%), Saudi Arabia (8.2%), the United Arab Emirates (5.1%) and Oman (4.7%). Egypt (X tons) held a minor share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Morocco (with a CAGR of +16.1%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Tunisia ($X), Morocco ($X) and Turkey ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2021, together accounting for 83% of total exports.
In terms of the main exporting countries, Morocco, with a CAGR of +14.1%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price in MENA stood at $X per ton in 2021, surging by 27% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.9%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Egypt ($X per ton), while Oman ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Tunisia ($X per ton), while Bahrain ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
