Exports from Turkey increased at an average annual rate of +15.7% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Israel (+28.8%) and the United Arab Emirates (+6.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Israel emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in MENA, with a CAGR of +28.8% from 2012-2021. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Turkey and Israel increased by +17 and +5.1 percentage points, respectively.
In value terms, Turkey ($X) emerged as the largest knife and scissors supplier in MENA, comprising 67% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Israel ($X), with an 18% share of total exports.
In Turkey, knife and scissors exports expanded at an average annual rate of +16.2% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Israel (+29.5% per year) and the United Arab Emirates (+5.4% per year).

In 2021, the export price in MENA amounted to $X per ton, dropping by -10% against the previous year. In 2021, the United Arab Emirates (X tons), Iraq (X tons), Turkey (X tons), Iran (X tons), Algeria (X tons), Saudi Arabia (X tons) and Israel (X tons) was the major importer of knives, scissors and blades in MENA, mixing up 78% of total import. Morocco (X tons), Libya (X tons), Yemen (X tons), Tunisia (X tons), Kuwait (X tons) and Djibouti (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Iraq (with a CAGR of +12.6%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the United Arab Emirates ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported knives, scissors and blades in MENA, comprising 27% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Turkey ($X), with a 12% share of total imports. It was followed by Israel, with a 12% share.
