Exports by Country

In 2022, Bahrain (X units) represented the largest exporter of monitors and projectors, comprising 62% of total exports. Egypt (X units) took a 19% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by the United Arab Emirates (10%). Turkey (X units) and Saudi Arabia (X units) took a relatively small share of total exports.

Exports from Bahrain increased at an average annual rate of +6.7% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Egypt (+37.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Egypt emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in MENA, with a CAGR of +37.1% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Saudi Arabia (-15.0%), Turkey (-15.7%) and the United Arab Emirates (-31.3%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Bahrain (+56 p.p.) and Egypt (+19 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2022, the share of the United Arab Emirates (-69 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Egypt ($X) remains the largest monitors and projectors supplier in MENA, comprising 42% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by the United Arab Emirates ($X), with a 17% share of total exports. It was followed by Bahrain, with a 16% share.

In Egypt, monitors and projectors exports increased at an average annual rate of +28.5% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: the United Arab Emirates (-27.4% per year) and Bahrain (-17.4% per year).

Export Prices by Country

In 2022, the export price in MENA amounted to $X per unit, waning by -4.5% against the previous year. Overall, the export price recorded a abrupt decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when the export price increased by 36% against the previous year. From 2020 to 2022, the import prices failed to regain momentum.
