In general, exports saw a buoyant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when exports increased by 353%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X units. From 2020 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, snow motor vehicle exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Overall, exports posted significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 286% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2020 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

Exports by Country

The United Arab Emirates (X units) and Turkey (X units) dominates exports structure, together achieving 89% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Israel (X units), generating a 6.6% share of total exports. Iran (X units) took a minor share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Turkey (with a CAGR of +48.4%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest snow motor vehicle supplying countries in MENA were Turkey ($X), the United Arab Emirates ($X) and Israel ($X), with a combined 97% share of total exports.

Among the main exporting countries, Turkey, with a CAGR of +46.6%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export price indicated tangible growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.6% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, snow motor vehicle export price decreased by -8.0% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 62% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2021 to 2022, the export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 650% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, snow motor vehicle imports shrank sharply to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, enjoyed measured growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 1,258% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports by Country

The United Arab Emirates represented the largest importing country with an import of around X units, which resulted at 48% of total imports. Israel (X units) took the second position in the ranking, followed by Qatar (X units) and Egypt (X units). All these countries together took approx. 31% share of total imports. The following importers - Iraq (X units), Libya (X units), Iran (X units), Turkey (X units), Kuwait (X units) and Morocco (X units) - together made up 19% of total imports.

The United Arab Emirates experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of imports of motor vehicles for travelling on snow or golf cars. At the same time, Egypt (+20.2%), Qatar (+15.7%), Iraq (+9.3%), Morocco (+4.0%) and Israel (+2.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Egypt emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in MENA, with a CAGR of +20.2% from 2012-2022. Iran and Turkey experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Kuwait (-1.7%) and Libya (-9.5%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Qatar (+7.6 p.p.), Egypt (+5.4 p.p.), Israel (+2.6 p.p.) and Iraq (+2.3 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2022, the share of the United Arab Emirates (-2 p.p.) and Libya (-6.1 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Israel ($X), the United Arab Emirates ($X) and Qatar ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, together comprising 67% of total imports. Egypt, Turkey, Kuwait, Iran, Iraq, Morocco and Libya lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 31%.

In terms of the main importing countries, Egypt, with a CAGR of +21.1%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

In 2022, the import price in MENA amounted to $X per unit, which is down by -14.9% against the previous year. Import price indicated a slight increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.7% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, snow motor vehicle import price decreased by -15.6% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 81% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2018 to 2022, the import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Qatar ($X per unit), while the United Arab Emirates ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
