It was distantly followed by Syrian Arab Republic (X units) and the United Arab Emirates (X units), together achieving a 14% share of total exports. The following exporters - Jordan (X units), Egypt (X units) and Tunisia (X units) - each finished at an 8.2% share of total exports.

Turkey was also the fastest-growing in terms of the non-motorised hand-operated mechanical floor sweepers exports, with a CAGR of +15.8% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Egypt (+7.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. The United Arab Emirates experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Syrian Arab Republic (-5.2%), Jordan (-7.1%) and Tunisia (-11.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Turkey ($X) remains the largest mechanical hand floor sweeper supplier in MENA, comprising 73% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Jordan ($X), with a 6.8% share of total exports. It was followed by the United Arab Emirates, with a 5.6% share.

In Turkey, mechanical hand floor sweeper exports increased at an average annual rate of +12.6% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Jordan (-2.6% per year) and the United Arab Emirates (+5.8% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The export price in MENA stood at $X per unit in 2022, picking up by 3.1% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when the export price increased by 8.3%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2015 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Jordan ($X per unit), while Syrian Arab Republic ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

After four years of growth, overseas purchases of non-motorised hand-operated mechanical floor sweepers decreased by -3.2% to X units in 2022. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.7% over the period from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 33%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X units in 2021, and then shrank in the following year.

In value terms, mechanical hand floor sweeper imports declined modestly to $X in 2022.
