The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when exports increased by 347%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Exports by Country
Turkey dominates exports structure, recording X units, which was approx. 88% of total exports in 2022. The following exporters - Morocco (X units) and the United Arab Emirates (X units) - each finished at a 7.7% share of total exports.
Exports from Turkey increased at an average annual rate of +5.3% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Morocco (+16.2%) and the United Arab Emirates (+7.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Morocco emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in MENA, with a CAGR of +16.2% from 2012-2022. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Morocco increased by +2.4 percentage points. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Turkey ($X) remains the largest non-self-propelled fork-lift truck supplier in MENA, comprising 69% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by the United Arab Emirates ($X), with a 13% share of total exports.
In Turkey, non-self-propelled fork-lift truck exports expanded at an average annual rate of +9.2% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the United Arab Emirates (-4.2% per year) and Morocco (+4.7% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The export price in MENA stood at $X per unit in 2022, rising by 21% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 an increase of 659% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($X per unit), while Morocco ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey (+3.8%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Imports in MENA
In 2022, purchases abroad of non-self-propelled fork-lift trucks increased by 25% to X units, rising for the second consecutive year after four years of decline. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a moderate increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 99.9% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, non-self-propelled fork-lift truck imports soared to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, recorded a perceptible shrinkage. The level of import peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
Turkey (X units) and the United Arab Emirates (X units) represented the main importers of non-self-propelled fork-lift trucks in 2022, amounting to near 29% and 23% of total imports, respectively. Egypt (X units) ranks next in terms of the total imports with a 13% share, followed by Qatar (12%). The following importers - Iraq (X units), Morocco (X units), Iran (X units), Tunisia (X units), Israel (X units), Algeria (X units), Libya (X units) and Jordan (X units) - together made up 21% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Israel (with a CAGR of +15.7%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the United Arab Emirates ($X), Turkey ($X) and Israel ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, with a combined 54% share of total imports.
In terms of the main importing countries, Israel, with a CAGR of +21.7%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the import price in MENA amounted to $X per unit, waning by -7.8% against the previous year. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a abrupt descent. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 37%. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
