In value terms, non-soap washing and cleaning preparations exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Total exports indicated resilient growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +7.0% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +32.1% against 2017 indices. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In 2022, Turkey (X tons) represented the largest exporter of non-soap washing and cleaning preparations, committing 48% of total exports. Saudi Arabia (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a 21% share, followed by Egypt (7.6%), the United Arab Emirates (6.5%) and Jordan (5.1%). Among the main exporting countries, Saudi Arabia, with a CAGR of +10.9%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

In 2022, the export price in MENA amounted to $X per ton, rising by 19% against the previous year. In general, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Egypt ($X per ton), while Iran ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Jordan (+6.6%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Oman, with a CAGR of +17.0%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The import price in MENA stood at $X per ton in 2022, surging by 3.4% against the previous year. In general, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when the import price increased by 10% against the previous year. The level of import peaked in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in the near future.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($X per ton), while Yemen ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
