In 2021, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in supplies from abroad of particle board and similar board of ligneous materials (excluding wood), when their volume increased by 88% to X cubic meters. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a deep reduction. Over the period under review, imports of hit record highs at X cubic meters in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The import price in MENA stood at $X per cubic meter in 2021, remaining stable against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when the import price increased by 58% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per cubic meter, leveling off in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Iraq ($X per cubic meter), while Lebanon ($X per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Iraq (+11.8%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the import price figures.
