In 2021, Jordan (X units) was the largest exporter of pastels, drawing charcoals, writing or drawing chalks, comprising 45% of total exports. Turkey (X units) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a 30% share, followed by the United Arab Emirates (11%) and Tunisia (9%). Lebanon (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the leading importing countries, was attained by Iraq (with a CAGR of +15.8%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 an increase of 25%.
