In value terms, plastic hose and hose fitting exports soared to $X in 2021. Total exports indicated perceptible growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.1% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Exports by Country

In 2021, Turkey (X tons) was the major exporter of plastic hoses and hose fittings, creating 57% of total exports. Saudi Arabia (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a 17% share, followed by the United Arab Emirates (9.3%) and Bahrain (4.8%). Israel (X tons) and Morocco (X tons) took a minor share of total exports.

Exports from Turkey increased at an average annual rate of +3.2% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Bahrain (+25.8%), Morocco (+16.4%) and the United Arab Emirates (+4.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Bahrain emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in MENA, with a CAGR of +25.8% from 2012-2021. Israel experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Saudi Arabia (-6.4%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Turkey, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates increased by +17, +4.2 and +3.3 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Turkey ($X) remains the largest plastic hose and hose fitting supplier in MENA, comprising 46% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Israel ($X), with an 18% share of total exports. It was followed by Saudi Arabia, with a 12% share.

In Turkey, plastic hose and hose fitting exports increased at an average annual rate of +3.7% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Israel (+7.8% per year) and Saudi Arabia (-1.0% per year).

In 2021, the export price in MENA amounted to $X per ton, rising by 6.8% against the previous year. Over the last nine-year period, it increased at an average annual rate of +3.8%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the export price increased by 9.8%. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the maximum in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.

Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was Israel ($X per ton), while Bahrain ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Israel (+7.3%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the amount of plastic hoses and hose fittings imported in MENA rose markedly to X tons, with an increase of 6.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a slight decrease. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 6.6%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, plastic hose and hose fitting imports totaled $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +1.7% from 2012 to 2021; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being observed throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In 2021, Iraq (X tons), distantly followed by Yemen (X tons), Turkey (X tons), the United Arab Emirates (X tons), Algeria (X tons), Saudi Arabia (X tons) and Morocco (X tons) were the key importers of plastic hoses and hose fittings, together committing 70% of total imports. Libya (X tons), Egypt (X tons), Tunisia (X tons), Israel (X tons), Kuwait (X tons) and Syrian Arab Republic (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main importing countries, was attained by Syrian Arab Republic (with a CAGR of +18.8%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when the import price increased by 8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices reached the maximum in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
