Turkey (+48 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Israel saw its share reduced by -39.3% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Turkey ($X) remains the largest plastic shutters and blinds supplier in MENA, comprising 65% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Israel ($X), with a 20% share of total exports. It was followed by the United Arab Emirates, with a 9.2% share.

In Turkey, plastic shutters and blinds exports increased at an average annual rate of +10.1% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Israel (-10.3% per year) and the United Arab Emirates (+13.4% per year).

Moreover, Egypt emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in MENA, with a CAGR of +13.0% from 2012-2022. Libya experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Morocco (-1.4%), Turkey (-4.7%), the United Arab Emirates (-6.3%) and Tunisia (-10.8%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Qatar, Algeria and Egypt increased by +16, +9.9 and +3.1 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the largest plastic shutters and blinds importing markets in MENA were Algeria ($X), Qatar ($X) and Turkey ($X), together accounting for 43% of total imports.

In terms of the main importing countries, Algeria, with a CAGR of +11.9%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
