The MENA's prefabricated buildings market declined to $X in 2022, with a decrease of -10.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, consumption, however, posted pronounced growth. Over the period under review, the market reached the peak level at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, consumption failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, prefabricated buildings production reduced to $X in 2022 estimated in export price. In general, production, however, continues to indicate a noticeable increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 32% against the previous year. Over the period under review, production reached the peak level at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, production remained at a lower figure.

Exports in MENA
In 2022, overseas shipments of prefabricated buildings decreased by -7.8% to X units for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year rising trend. In general, exports continue to indicate a mild setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 17%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at X units in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, prefabricated buildings exports declined modestly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 25%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X, and then contracted modestly in the following year.
Exports by Country
Turkey was the key exporter of prefabricated buildings in MENA, with the volume of exports finishing at X units, which was near 46% of total exports in 2022. Israel (X units) took a 21% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by the United Arab Emirates (18%) and Kuwait (6.3%). Lebanon (X units) and Saudi Arabia (X units) held a minor share of total exports.
Turkey experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of exports of prefabricated buildings. At the same time, Lebanon (+10.7%), Israel (+4.1%) and Kuwait (+2.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Lebanon emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in MENA, with a CAGR of +10.7% from 2012-2022. By contrast, the United Arab Emirates (-3.7%) and Saudi Arabia (-20.0%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Israel, Turkey, Kuwait and Lebanon increased by +9.4, +5.3, +2.3 and +2.1 percentage points, respectively.
In value terms, Turkey ($X), Israel ($X) and the United Arab Emirates ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, together comprising 91% of total exports.
Israel, with a CAGR of +7.6%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the export price in MENA amounted to $X per unit, surging by 3.8% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.6%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when the export price increased by 13% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the peak figure in 2022 and is likely to see gradual growth in the near future.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Israel ($X per unit), while Kuwait ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Israel (+3.4%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in MENA
In 2022, supplies from abroad of prefabricated buildings increased by 29% to X units, rising for the second year in a row after two years of decline. In general, imports, however, saw a noticeable descent. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, prefabricated buildings imports surged to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a pronounced setback. The level of import peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Morocco (X units), distantly followed by the United Arab Emirates (X units), Iraq (X units), Libya (X units), Algeria (X units) and Turkey (X units) represented the key importers of prefabricated buildings, together constituting 69% of total imports. The following importers - Djibouti (X units), Oman (X units), Kuwait (X units), Qatar (X units), Israel (X units), Iran (X units) and Egypt (X units) - together made up 23% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the leading importing countries, was attained by Morocco (with a CAGR of +10.6%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest prefabricated buildings importing markets in MENA were Morocco ($X), Qatar ($X) and the United Arab Emirates ($X), together accounting for 45% of total imports. Iraq, Algeria, Libya, Israel, Turkey, Kuwait, Oman, Djibouti, Iran and Egypt lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 35%.
Djibouti, with a CAGR of +8.1%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in MENA stood at $X per unit in 2022, shrinking by -8.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 25% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2018 to 2022, the import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Qatar ($X per unit), while Turkey ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United Arab Emirates (+5.8%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
