In value terms, pump for liquid exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, exports enjoyed a resilient expansion. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Exports by Country

In 2021, Turkey (X units) represented the largest exporter of pumps for liquids and liquid elevators, committing 66% of total exports. It was distantly followed by the United Arab Emirates (X units), committing a 26% share of total exports. Saudi Arabia (X units) took a relatively small share of total exports.

Turkey was also the fastest-growing in terms of the pumps for liquids and liquid elevators exports, with a CAGR of +15.6% from 2012 to 2021. Total imports indicated a remarkable increase from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +9.1% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +73.3% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 36%. The volume of import peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, pump for liquid imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. In general, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

Turkey represented the largest importer of pumps for liquids and liquid elevators in MENA, with the volume of imports recording X units, which was approx. 58% of total imports in 2021. It was distantly followed by the United Arab Emirates (X units), Iran (X units) and Israel (X units), together creating a 24% share of total imports. Saudi Arabia (X units), Algeria (X units) and Iraq (X units) held a minor share of total imports.

Imports into Turkey increased at an average annual rate of +11.5% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Saudi Arabia (+18.5%), Algeria (+16.4%), the United Arab Emirates (+10.7%), Iraq (+7.2%), Israel (+7.0%) and Iran (+1.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Saudi Arabia emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in MENA, with a CAGR of +18.5% from 2012-2021. Turkey (+10 p.p.), Saudi Arabia (+1.9 p.p.) and the United Arab Emirates (+1.7 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Iran saw its share reduced by -5.1% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Turkey ($X), the United Arab Emirates ($X) and Saudi Arabia ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, together accounting for 51% of total imports. These countries were followed by Iraq, Algeria, Iran and Israel, which together accounted for a further 21%.

Among the main importing countries, Algeria, with a CAGR of +6.5%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

In 2021, the import price in MENA amounted to $X per unit, reducing by -3.6% against the previous year. Overall, the import price showed a abrupt decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the import price increased by 22% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Iraq ($X per unit), while Turkey ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Israel (-3.3%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the import price figures.
