Turkey experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of imports of pure polyvinyl chloride in primary forms. At the same time, Algeria (+10.5%), Oman (+6.2%), the United Arab Emirates (+4.4%), Kuwait (+3.1%), Egypt (+2.1%), Morocco (+2.1%) and Tunisia (+1.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Algeria emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in MENA, with a CAGR of +10.5% from 2012-2022. Israel experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Saudi Arabia (-3.5%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Algeria and the United Arab Emirates increased by +5.7 and +2.9 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Turkey ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported pure polyvinyl chloride in primary forms in MENA, comprising 48% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Egypt ($X), with a 14% share of total imports. It was followed by the United Arab Emirates, with a 9.1% share.
