It was distantly followed by the United Arab Emirates (X tons), Turkey (X tons) and Palestine (X tons), together constituting a 25% share of total exports. From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Israel amounted to +64.3%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: the United Arab Emirates (+15.0% per year) and Turkey (+1.0% per year).

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 49%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, fromwork imports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated a noticeable expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The level of import peaked at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2022, Palestine (X tons) and Turkey (X tons) represented the key importers of shuttering for concrete constructional work, shingles and shakes, of wood in MENA, together making up 51% of total imports. The United Arab Emirates (X tons) held the next position in the ranking, followed by Morocco (X tons), Israel (X tons) and Saudi Arabia (X tons). All these countries together took approx. 36% share of total imports. Iraq (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
