Among the main exporting countries, Jordan, with a CAGR of +73.5%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

The export price in MENA stood at $X per unit in 2021, increasing by 1.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the export price increased by 19%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2015 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Jordan ($X per unit), while Oman ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

Import Prices by Country

In 2021, the import price in MENA amounted to $X per unit, with an increase of 7.6% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.6%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when the import price increased by 7.6%. The level of import peaked in 2021 and is likely to continue growth in the near future.

Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Morocco ($X per unit), while Qatar ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
