The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 30% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then dropped in the following year.

From 2012 to 2022, the share of Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Algeria and Yemen increased by +24, +14, +4.8 and +2.4 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Turkey ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported styrene-acrylonitrile (san) copolymers in primary forms in MENA, comprising 48% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Egypt ($X), with a 19% share of total imports. It was followed by the United Arab Emirates, with a 9.9% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Turkey amounted to +7.8%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Egypt (-5.5% per year) and the United Arab Emirates (+41.3% per year).
