Super-Heated Water Boiler Market Size in MENA

After two years of growth, the MENA's super-heated water boiler market decreased by -17.6% to $X in 2021. The total consumption indicated slight growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +1.1% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, consumption increased by +20.7% against 2018 indices. The level of consumption peaked at $X in 2020, and then fell remarkably in the following year.

In value terms, super-heated water boiler production dropped to $X in 2021 estimated in export price. The total production indicated a noticeable expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.0% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, production increased by +6.8% against 2017 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when the production volume increased by 40% against the previous year. As a result, production attained the peak level of $X, and then shrank in the following year.

Exports in MENA

In 2021, overseas shipments of super-heated water boilers increased by 49% to X tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Overall, exports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 91% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tons. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, super-heated water boiler exports surged to $X in 2021. Total exports indicated a tangible expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.0% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports by Country

Turkey prevails in exports structure, finishing at X tons, which was approx. 86% of total exports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Iran (X tons), creating a 5.9% share of total exports. Israel (X tons) and the United Arab Emirates (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Turkey experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of exports of super-heated water boilers. At the same time, Israel (+25.6%) and Iran (+13.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Israel emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in MENA, with a CAGR of +25.6% from 2012-2021. By contrast, the United Arab Emirates (-10.0%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Iran (+4.1 p.p.) and Israel (+3.7 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while the United Arab Emirates saw its share reduced by -3.4% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Turkey ($X) remains the largest super-heated water boiler supplier in MENA, comprising 63% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Israel ($X), with a 28% share of total exports. It was followed by Iran, with a 4.8% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Turkey totaled -1.6%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Israel (+45.1% per year) and Iran (+23.0% per year).

Export Prices by Country

In 2021, the export price in MENA amounted to $X per ton, rising by 4% against the previous year. Export price indicated a notable increase from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.8% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, super-heated water boiler export price increased by +59.5% against 2016 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 33%. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the maximum in 2021 and is likely to see steady growth in the near future.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Israel ($X per ton), while Turkey ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Israel (+15.6%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in MENA

After four years of decline, purchases abroad of super-heated water boilers increased by 18% to X tons in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a deep slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by 700% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2017 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, super-heated water boiler imports stood at $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, faced a abrupt decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by 653%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2017 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

Turkey was the main importer of super-heated water boilers in MENA, with the volume of imports accounting for X tons, which was approx. 49% of total imports in 2021. It was distantly followed by the United Arab Emirates (X tons), Iraq (X tons), Egypt (X tons) and Morocco (X tons), together creating a 35% share of total imports. The following importers - Syrian Arab Republic (X tons) and Lebanon (X tons) - each recorded a 5.8% share of total imports.

Turkey was also the fastest-growing in terms of the super-heated water boilers imports, with a CAGR of +27.0% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, the United Arab Emirates (+21.6%), Egypt (+8.8%), Morocco (+5.7%) and Lebanon (+5.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. By contrast, Syrian Arab Republic (-6.7%) and Iraq (-8.5%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Turkey (+46 p.p.), the United Arab Emirates (+11 p.p.), Egypt (+5.6 p.p.), Morocco (+3.5 p.p.) and Lebanon (+2.1 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Turkey ($X), the United Arab Emirates ($X) and Egypt ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, together accounting for 66% of total imports.

Among the main importing countries, Egypt, with a CAGR of +21.9%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The import price in MENA stood at $X per ton in 2021, dropping by -10.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price showed a pronounced downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 23% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Egypt ($X per ton), while Iraq ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
