The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by 5.4% against the previous year. In 2021, the United Arab Emirates (X tons), followed by Iraq (X tons), Oman (X tons), Saudi Arabia (X tons), Turkey (X tons), Kuwait (X tons), Algeria (X tons), Qatar (X tons) and Egypt (X tons) were the largest importers of tubes, pipes and hollow profiles (of iron or steel), together mixing up 85% of total imports. The import price in MENA stood at $X per ton in 2021, increasing by 11% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 an increase of 12% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Qatar ($X per ton), while Kuwait ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Qatar (+3.7%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
