Turkey prevails in exports structure, recording X tons, which was approx. 94% of total exports in 2021. The United Arab Emirates (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to rubber tube and pipe exports from Turkey stood at +5.6%. At the same time, the United Arab Emirates (+5.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. Imports in MENA
In 2021, the amount of tubes, pipes and hoses of vulcanized rubber imported in MENA expanded significantly to X tons, growing by 13% on the year before. In general, imports saw a modest expansion. The countries with the highest levels of rubber tube and pipe imports in 2021 were the United Arab Emirates (X tons), Turkey (X tons) and Saudi Arabia (X tons), together finishing at 55% of total import. Iran (X tons) took an 8.4% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Iraq (6.6%). Algeria (X tons), Qatar (X tons), Morocco (X tons), Oman (X tons), Kuwait (X tons), Egypt (X tons), Israel (X tons) and Jordan (X tons) held a little share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Iraq (with a CAGR of +11.1%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest rubber tube and pipe importing markets in MENA were Turkey ($X), the United Arab Emirates ($X) and Saudi Arabia ($X), together accounting for 58% of total imports. Egypt, Israel, Algeria, Morocco, Iraq, Iran, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait and Jordan lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 36%.
Iraq, with a CAGR of +13.1%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in MENA stood at $X per ton in 2021, with an increase of 6.3% against the previous year. Over the last nine-year period, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.5%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 8.8%. Over the period under review, import prices attained the peak figure in 2021 and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Egypt ($X per ton), while Iran ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Egypt (+14.2%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
