The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when exports increased by 66% against the previous year. The United Arab Emirates (X units) and Oman (X units) represented roughly 73% of total exports in 2022. Israel (X units) ranks next in terms of the total exports with a 14% share, followed by Turkey (5.4%). Saudi Arabia (X units) and Morocco (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main exporting countries, was attained by Israel (with a CAGR of +100.4%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest video game console supplying countries in MENA were the United Arab Emirates ($X), Israel ($X) and Oman ($X), together accounting for 93% of total exports.
Israel, with a CAGR of +112.3%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the export price in MENA amounted to $X per unit, standing approx. at the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 55% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +1.2% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 40% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then declined in the following year.
Imports by Country
The United Arab Emirates prevails in imports structure, finishing at X units, which was approx. 70% of total imports in 2022. Israel (X units) held an 8.6% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Turkey (6.9%) and Qatar (5.9%). Kuwait (X units) held a minor share of total imports.
Imports into the United Arab Emirates increased at an average annual rate of +2.6% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Qatar (+25.4%), Kuwait (+15.2%) and Israel (+10.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Qatar emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in MENA, with a CAGR of +25.4% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Turkey (-5.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of the United Arab Emirates (+6 p.p.), Qatar (+5.2 p.p.), Israel (+4.8 p.p.) and Kuwait (+2.4 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2022, the share of Turkey (-7 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.
In value terms, the United Arab Emirates ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported video game consoles in MENA, comprising 75% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Israel ($X), with an 11% share of total imports. It was followed by Kuwait, with a 4% share.
In the United Arab Emirates, video game console imports expanded at an average annual rate of +7.8% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Israel (+18.0% per year) and Kuwait (+21.4% per year).
Import Prices by Country
