Bracelet Market Size in MENA

The MENA's bracelet market declined slightly to $X in 2022, reducing by -3.5% against the previous year. Overall, consumption, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, the market reached the maximum level at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, consumption failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, bracelet production fell slightly to $X in 2022 estimated in export price. In general, production saw a noticeable setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when the production volume increased by 11% against the previous year. The level of production peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, production stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2022, approx. X units of watch straps, bands and bracelets were exported in MENA; with a decrease of -3.5% on the previous year. Total exports indicated a pronounced expansion from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.6% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports decreased by -20.5% against 2017 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 63% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at X units in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, bracelet exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 42% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

Exports by Country

In 2022, the United Arab Emirates (X units) was the key exporter of watch straps, bands and bracelets, creating 41% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Turkey (X units), Tunisia (X units) and Oman (X units), together creating a 56% share of total exports. Saudi Arabia (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Oman (with a CAGR of +45.6%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Tunisia ($X) remains the largest bracelet supplier in MENA, comprising 64% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the United Arab Emirates ($X), with a 19% share of total exports. It was followed by Turkey, with an 11% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Tunisia stood at -2.8%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the United Arab Emirates (+29.3% per year) and Turkey (+42.9% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The export price in MENA stood at $X per unit in 2022, picking up by 23% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a noticeable decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 an increase of 57%. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Tunisia ($X per unit), while Oman ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey (+13.6%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Bracelet Imports

In 2022, overseas purchases of watch straps, bands and bracelets increased by 11% to X units, rising for the sixth consecutive year after two years of decline. In general, imports enjoyed a buoyant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by 73% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.

In value terms, bracelet imports dropped to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated prominent growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by 24%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2021, and then reduced in the following year.

Imports by Country

In 2022, Turkey (X units), distantly followed by the United Arab Emirates (X units), Egypt (X units) and Israel (X units) were the main importers of watch straps, bands and bracelets, together comprising 88% of total imports. The following importers - Kuwait (X units), Oman (X units) and Iran (X units) - each recorded a 5.8% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Oman (with a CAGR of +20.1%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the United Arab Emirates ($X), Turkey ($X) and Israel ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, together accounting for 74% of total imports. Kuwait, Iran, Egypt and Oman lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 12%.

Among the main importing countries, Egypt, with a CAGR of +19.4%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The import price in MENA stood at $X per unit in 2022, declining by -19.2% against the previous year. In general, the import price recorded a perceptible decline. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 an increase of 50%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2017 to 2022, the import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Kuwait ($X per unit), while Egypt ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
