Imports in MENA
In 2021, supplies from abroad of welded link chain of iron or steel increased by 4.9% to X tons, rising for the second consecutive year after three years of decline. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.6% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. By contrast, Saudi Arabia (-3.2%) and Iran (-6.8%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of the United Arab Emirates, Iraq and Israel increased by +13, +4.6 and +2.2 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

The second position in the ranking was held by Turkey ($X), with a 15% share of total imports. It was followed by Saudi Arabia, with a 9.8% share.
In the United Arab Emirates, metal welded link chain imports expanded at an average annual rate of +6.6% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Turkey (+3.4% per year) and Saudi Arabia (+4.8% per year).
