Exports by Country
In 2021, Morocco (X units) was the major exporter of wooden frames for paintings, photographs, mirrors or similar objects, committing 53% of total exports. Turkey (X units) took a 30% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by the United Arab Emirates (5.1%). Iran (X units) and Israel (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Israel (with a CAGR of +10.0%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In terms of the main exporting countries, Iran, with a CAGR of +17.5%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the export price in MENA amounted to $X per unit, surging by 5.2% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +4.7%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 an increase of 20% against the previous year. The level of export peaked in 2021 and is likely to continue growth in years to come.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($X per unit), while Morocco ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Iran (+9.8%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, after six years of decline, there was significant growth in overseas purchases of wooden frames for paintings, photographs, mirrors or similar objects, when their volume increased by 25% to X units. In general, imports, however, saw a perceptible reduction. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Iraq (X units) ranks next in terms of the total imports with an 11% share, followed by Turkey (9.7%), Jordan (9%) and Djibouti (6.1%). Kuwait (X units), Oman (X units), Morocco (X units), Bahrain (X units) and Qatar (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main importing countries, was attained by Djibouti (with a CAGR of +46.1%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Israel ($X), the United Arab Emirates ($X) and Qatar ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, with a combined 46% share of total imports. Jordan, Turkey, Djibouti, Iraq, Kuwait, Morocco, Bahrain and Oman lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 35%.
Djibouti, with a CAGR of +48.0%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in MENA amounted to $X per unit, growing by 3.1% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 5.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices attained the peak figure at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Qatar ($X per unit), while Oman ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey (+3.0%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
