By contrast, Chile (-25.2%) and Venezuela (-28.1%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Brazil, Colombia, Peru and Ecuador increased by +15, +13, +2.6 and +2.2 percentage points, respectively.

In value terms, Brazil ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported chlorates and perchlorates, bromates and perbromates, iodates and periodates in MERCOSUR, comprising 39% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Colombia ($X), with a 15% share of total imports. It was followed by Chile, with a 10% share.
