Brazil was the major exporting country with an export of about X units, which finished at 56% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Peru (X units), Argentina (X units), Colombia (X units) and Ecuador (X units), together comprising a 36% share of total exports. Chile (X units) and Venezuela (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
Brazil was also the fastest-growing in terms of the chromatographs and electrophoresis instruments exports, with a CAGR of +11.9% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Ecuador (+2.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. In value terms, Brazil ($X), Argentina ($X) and Colombia ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, together comprising 82% of total exports.
In terms of the main exporting countries, Brazil, with a CAGR of +12.3%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced a decline in the exports figures.
Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the export price in MERCOSUR amounted to $X per unit, which is down by -30.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 an increase of 158%. By contrast, Argentina (-4.2%), Uruguay (-5.6%) and Peru (-6.0%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Chile (+7.9 p.p.) and Colombia (+7 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Brazil saw its share reduced by -16.3% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Brazil ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported chromatographs and electrophoresis instruments in MERCOSUR, comprising 53% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Argentina ($X), with an 18% share of total imports. It was followed by Colombia, with a 12% share.
In Brazil, chromatograph imports shrank by an average annual rate of -5.6% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Argentina (-0.5% per year) and Colombia (-0.1% per year).
