Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, citrus fruit jams and marmalades exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, recorded a abrupt shrinkage. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
Argentina dominates exports structure, amounting to X tons, which was near 80% of total exports in 2022. Peru (X tons) held an 8.3% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Ecuador (7.7%). Venezuela (X kg) took a minor share of total exports.
Exports from Argentina decreased at an average annual rate of -8.5% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Ecuador (+12.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Ecuador emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in MERCOSUR, with a CAGR of +12.6% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Venezuela (-2.2%) and Peru (-21.9%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Argentina and Ecuador increased by +28 and +7.1 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Argentina ($X) emerged as the largest citrus fruit jams and marmalades supplier in MERCOSUR, comprising 66% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Ecuador ($X), with a 16% share of total exports. It was followed by Peru, with a 13% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Argentina amounted to -10.4%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Ecuador (+12.2% per year) and Peru (-21.0% per year).

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when the export price increased by 37% against the previous year. There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Ecuador ($X per ton), while Venezuela ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Peru (+1.2%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Imports in MERCOSUR
In 2022, imports of citrus fruit jams, marmalades, jellies, purees or pastes in MERCOSUR skyrocketed to X tons, picking up by 22% on the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of 35% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, citrus fruit jams and marmalades imports surged to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated measured growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.6% over the last decade. Imports by Country
Chile (X tons) and Brazil (X tons) represented roughly 65% of total imports in 2022. Paraguay (X tons) ranks next in terms of the total imports with a 9.3% share, followed by Colombia (8.6%) and Argentina (4.6%). The following importers - Ecuador (X tons) and Uruguay (X tons) - each finished at a 6.7% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the key importing countries, was attained by Argentina (with a CAGR of +18.7%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Chile ($X), Brazil ($X) and Colombia ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, with a combined 75% share of total imports. Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay and Ecuador lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 20%.
Among the main importing countries, Ecuador, with a CAGR of +17.2%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in MERCOSUR stood at $X per ton in 2022, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.9%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when the import price increased by 11% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2021, and then declined slightly in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Uruguay ($X per ton), while Paraguay ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
