In 2021, approx. X tons of domestic, non-electric, cooking or heating appliances were imported in MERCOSUR; surging by 53% on 2020 figures. Total imports indicated a mild expansion from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.4% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +61.5% against 2019 indices. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the leading importing countries, was attained by Chile (with a CAGR of +13.9%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest domestic, non-electric, cooking or heating appliance importing markets in MERCOSUR were Chile ($X), Peru ($X) and Colombia ($X), together comprising 73% of total imports.
