Exports from Brazil increased at an average annual rate of +6.9% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Ecuador (+37.1%), Chile (+25.6%), Colombia (+19.6%) and Argentina (+1.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Ecuador emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in MERCOSUR, with a CAGR of +37.1% from 2012-2021. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Chile and Ecuador increased by +15 and +6.8 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Brazil ($X) remains the largest wood dryer supplier in MERCOSUR, comprising 95% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Argentina ($X), with a 2.2% share of total exports. It was followed by Ecuador, with a 1.2% share.
In Brazil, wood dryer exports increased at an average annual rate of +5.9% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Argentina (-7.0% per year) and Ecuador (+52.4% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The export price in MERCOSUR stood at $X per unit in 2021, which is down by -13.2% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price showed a perceptible shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the export price increased by 47% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2018 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Brazil ($X per unit), while Colombia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Ecuador (+13.9%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Imports in MERCOSUR
Wood dryer imports skyrocketed to X units in 2021, growing by 232% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports enjoyed prominent growth. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
