In general, exports recorded a pronounced decrease. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 99% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X units, and then dropped remarkably in the following year.

In value terms, industrial, laboratory or bakery oven exports declined markedly to $X in 2022. Overall, exports saw a mild contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 60% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X, and then fell sharply in the following year.

Brazil was the largest exporter of industrial, laboratory or bakery ovens in MERCOSUR, with the volume of exports amounting to X units, which was approx. 55% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Argentina (X units) and Colombia (X units), together mixing up a 40% share of total exports. The following exporters - Peru (X units) and Chile (X units) - each recorded a 4.6% share of total exports.

Exports from Brazil increased at an average annual rate of +9.7% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Colombia (+21.6%) and Peru (+8.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Colombia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in MERCOSUR, with a CAGR of +21.6% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Argentina (-11.7%) and Chile (-24.4%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Brazil (+40 p.p.), Colombia (+13 p.p.) and Peru (+1.7 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Chile and Argentina saw its share reduced by -21.9% and -33.6% from 2012 to 2022, respectively.

In value terms, the largest industrial, laboratory or bakery oven supplying countries in MERCOSUR were Colombia ($X), Brazil ($X) and Argentina ($X), together accounting for 93% of total exports. Peru and Chile lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 5.5%.

Peru, with a CAGR of +23.6%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

In 2022, the export price in MERCOSUR amounted to $X per unit, growing by 35% against the previous year. Export price indicated a notable expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.0% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when the export price increased by 62% against the previous year. The level of export peaked in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in the near future.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Colombia ($X per unit), while Argentina ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Peru (+14.0%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

Imports in MERCOSUR

In 2022, industrial, laboratory or bakery oven imports in MERCOSUR reduced to X units, declining by -10.1% against the previous year's figure. Overall, imports, however, recorded a strong expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when imports increased by 54%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2020 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, industrial, laboratory or bakery oven imports declined markedly to $X in 2022. In general, imports saw a abrupt shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of 96%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Imports by Country

In 2022, Argentina (X units) represented the major importer of industrial, laboratory or bakery ovens, constituting 44% of total imports. Chile (X units) held the second position in the ranking, followed by Colombia (X units), Brazil (X units) and Peru (X units). All these countries together took approx. 45% share of total imports. The following importers - Ecuador (X units) and Venezuela (X units) - each recorded a 7.5% share of total imports.

Imports into Argentina increased at an average annual rate of +16.5% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Ecuador (+24.6%), Colombia (+11.8%), Chile (+9.1%) and Peru (+2.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Ecuador emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in MERCOSUR, with a CAGR of +24.6% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Venezuela (-4.0%) and Brazil (-6.1%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Argentina (+26 p.p.), Colombia (+4.3 p.p.), Chile (+3.9 p.p.) and Ecuador (+3.1 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Peru, Venezuela and Brazil saw its share reduced by -3.3%, -6.5% and -24.8% from 2012 to 2022, respectively.

In value terms, Argentina ($X), Brazil ($X) and Peru ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, with a combined 70% share of total imports. Chile, Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 27%.

Ecuador, with a CAGR of +9.8%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

In 2022, the import price in MERCOSUR amounted to $X per unit, with a decrease of -22.2% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price showed a abrupt decrease. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 48%. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Brazil ($X per unit), while Venezuela ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Peru (+5.5%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the import price figures.
