In 2021, Argentina (X units) was the main exporter of electric radiators and convection heaters, generating 58% of total exports. Chile (X units) took an 18% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Brazil (11%) and Ecuador (4.7%). The following exporters - Colombia (X units) and Venezuela (X units) - together made up 7.1% of total exports.

Exports from Argentina decreased at an average annual rate of -11.3% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Colombia (+8.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Colombia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in MERCOSUR, with a CAGR of +8.5% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Brazil (-3.6%), Chile (-24.6%), Venezuela (-42.4%) and Ecuador (-43.6%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Chile increased by +47, +10, +4.1 and +3.9 percentage points, respectively.

In value terms, the largest electric radiator supplying countries in MERCOSUR were Argentina ($X), Chile ($X) and Colombia ($X), with a combined 88% share of total exports.

In terms of the main exporting countries, Colombia, with a CAGR of +10.7%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced a decline in the exports figures.

In general, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X units in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, electric radiator imports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, recorded a mild shrinkage. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports by Country

Chile represented the major importer of electric radiators and convection heaters in MERCOSUR, with the volume of imports finishing at X units, which was approx. 49% of total imports in 2021. Brazil (X units) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a 27% share, followed by Uruguay (7.1%), Colombia (6.2%) and Peru (5.4%). Ecuador (X units) held a little share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the leading importing countries, was attained by Colombia (with a CAGR of +7.1%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Chile ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported electric radiators and convection heaters in MERCOSUR, comprising 56% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Brazil ($X), with a 21% share of total imports. It was followed by Colombia, with a 5.9% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in Chile amounted to +3.4%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Brazil (-6.3% per year) and Colombia (+2.0% per year).
