At the same time, Chile (+23.1%), Ecuador (+21.5%), Colombia (+19.6%), Peru (+14.3%) and Venezuela (+7.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Chile emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in MERCOSUR, with a CAGR of +23.1% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Argentina (-25.1%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Brazil, Ecuador, Chile, Colombia, Peru and Venezuela increased by +9.1, +8.1, +4.6, +1.7, +1.7 and +1.7 percentage points, respectively.
In value terms, Brazil ($X) remains the largest electronic metal tester supplier in MERCOSUR, comprising 84% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Peru ($X), with a 6.1% share of total exports. It was followed by Argentina, with a 5.6% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Brazil totaled -12.3%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Peru (+27.2% per year) and Argentina (-25.8% per year).

In 2021, the export price in MERCOSUR amounted to $X per unit, declining by -29.6% against the previous year. In general, the export price recorded a perceptible curtailment. Imports in MERCOSUR
In 2021, imports of electronic machines and appliances for testing metals in MERCOSUR surged to X units, rising by 21% against the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a abrupt curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 34% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, electronic metal tester imports rose sharply to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, saw a deep downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 19%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Brazil represented the key importing country with an import of about X units, which amounted to 52% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Argentina (X units), Chile (X units), Peru (X units) and Colombia (X units), together achieving a 39% share of total imports. The following importers - Uruguay (X units) and Ecuador (X units) - together made up 6.2% of total imports.
Brazil experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of imports of electronic machines and appliances for testing metals. At the same time, Argentina (+9.3%), Uruguay (+3.4%) and Peru (+1.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Argentina emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in MERCOSUR, with a CAGR of +9.3% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Ecuador (-3.4%), Colombia (-10.0%) and Chile (-23.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Brazil, Argentina, Peru and Uruguay increased by +31, +13, +3.3 and +2.5 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Brazil ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported electronic machines and appliances for testing metals in MERCOSUR, comprising 63% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Peru ($X), with a 10% share of total imports. It was followed by Chile, with a 7.5% share.
