In value terms, the largest scaffolding, shuttering, and propping equipment supplying countries in MERCOSUR were Peru ($X), Chile ($X) and Colombia ($X), together comprising 82% of total exports. These countries were followed by Ecuador, Brazil and Argentina, which together accounted for a further 17%.
Among the main exporting countries, Ecuador, with a CAGR of +30.2%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price in MERCOSUR stood at $X per ton in 2021, rising by 2.6% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, saw a slight curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 an increase of 27%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2014 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, major exporting countries recorded the following prices: in Colombia ($X per ton) and Brazil ($X per ton), while Ecuador ($X per ton) and Chile ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Chile (+0.1%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Imports in MERCOSUR
In 2021, the amount of equipment for scaffolding, shuttering, propping or pit propping imported in MERCOSUR surged to X tons, increasing by 35% compared with 2020. Overall, imports, however, saw a deep contraction. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country
The purchases of the three major importers of equipment for scaffolding, shuttering, propping or pit propping, namely Chile, Peru and Colombia, represented more than two-thirds of total import. Brazil (X tons) held the next position in the ranking, followed by Argentina (X tons). All these countries together took near 22% share of total imports. The following importers - Paraguay (X tons) and Uruguay (X tons) - each finished at a 4.3% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Paraguay (with a CAGR of +7.6%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the imports figures.
In value terms, Chile ($X), Peru ($X) and Colombia ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, with a combined 74% share of total imports. Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 23%.
In terms of the main importing countries, Paraguay, with a CAGR of +15.0%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the imports figures.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in MERCOSUR stood at $X per ton in 2021, growing by 14% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Chile ($X per ton), while Colombia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
