Colombia prevails in exports structure, recording X tons, which was approx. 92% of total exports in 2021. The following exporters - Brazil (X kg) and Argentina (X kg) - together made up 5.8% of total exports.
Colombia was also the fastest-growing in terms of the furnace burners for liquid fuel exports, with a CAGR of +4.9% from 2012 to 2021. Brazil (-31.7%) and Argentina (-33.8%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Colombia (+71 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Argentina and Brazil saw its share reduced by -20.9% and -41.1% from 2012 to 2021, respectively.
In value terms, Colombia ($X) emerged as the largest liquid fuel furnace burner supplier in MERCOSUR, comprising 70% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Brazil ($X), with a 19% share of total exports.
In Colombia, liquid fuel furnace burner exports decreased by an average annual rate of -11.4% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Brazil (-29.5% per year) and Argentina (-32.1% per year).

The export price in MERCOSUR stood at $X per ton in 2021, waning by -21.6% against the previous year. Overall, the export price recorded a abrupt curtailment. Liquid fuel furnace burner imports was estimated at X tons in 2021, picking up by 6.1% on 2020 figures. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a perceptible setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 25% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, liquid fuel furnace burner imports rose notably to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 33%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
In 2021, Brazil (X tons) was the main importer of furnace burners for liquid fuel, achieving 44% of total imports. Chile (X tons) took the second position in the ranking, followed by Ecuador (X tons), Peru (X tons) and Colombia (X tons). All these countries together took near 48% share of total imports. Argentina (X tons) and Uruguay (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
Imports into Brazil increased at an average annual rate of +4.9% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Argentina (+6.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Argentina emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in MERCOSUR, with a CAGR of +6.9% from 2012-2021. Ecuador experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Chile (-1.9%), Colombia (-4.1%), Peru (-4.4%) and Uruguay (-11.0%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Brazil (+22 p.p.), Ecuador (+2.3 p.p.) and Argentina (+1.9 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of Peru (-1.8 p.p.) and Uruguay (-2.4 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Brazil ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported furnace burners for liquid fuel in MERCOSUR, comprising 54% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Chile ($X), with a 16% share of total imports. It was followed by Ecuador, with a 9.9% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Brazil totaled +14.0%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Chile (-6.7% per year) and Ecuador (-3.9% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The import price in MERCOSUR stood at $X per ton in 2021, picking up by 6% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.3%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 28%. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Argentina ($X per ton), while Ecuador ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
