Argentina dominates exports structure, recording X units, which was near 89% of total exports in 2021. The following exporters - Venezuela (X units), Peru (X units) and Colombia (X units) - together made up 8.5% of total exports.

Argentina was also the fastest-growing in terms of the gear cutting, gear grinding or gear finishing machines exports, with a CAGR of +51.5% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Peru (+9.9%) and Colombia (+8.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. Venezuela experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Argentina and Venezuela increased by +39 and +3.8 percentage points, respectively.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Venezuela ($X per unit), while Peru ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Colombia (-8.2%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

As a result, imports attained the peak of X units. From 2016 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, gear cutting machine imports fell dramatically to $X in 2021. In general, imports continue to indicate a drastic downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when imports increased by 47%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2021, Brazil (X units) was the main importer of gear cutting, gear grinding or gear finishing machines, creating 79% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Chile (X units), achieving a 14% share of total imports. Colombia (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
