Exports in MERCOSUR
In 2021, after nine years of growth, there was significant decline in shipments abroad of imines and their derivatives and salts thereof, when their volume decreased by -12.5% to X tons. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2020, and then reduced in the following year.

Brazil (X tons) represented roughly 98% of total exports in 2021.
Brazil was also the fastest-growing in terms of the imines and their derivatives and salts thereof exports, with a CAGR of +53.5% from 2012 to 2021. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Brazil increased by +12 percentage points, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Brazil ($X) also remains the largest imines supplier in MERCOSUR.

Export Prices by Country
The export price in MERCOSUR stood at $X per ton in 2021, picking up by 3.1% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a abrupt curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 7.9%. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the peak figure at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Brazil.

Imports in MERCOSUR
Imines imports rose notably to X tons in 2021, increasing by 10% on 2020 figures. In general, imports continue to indicate resilient growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 33%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.
In value terms, imines imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, imports enjoyed a prominent expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 32%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2021 and are likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
In 2021, Brazil (X tons) was the largest importer of imines and their derivatives and salts thereof, creating 72% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Chile (X tons), Colombia (X tons) and Argentina (X tons), together constituting a 24% share of total imports. Peru (X tons) held a minor share of total imports.
Imports into Brazil increased at an average annual rate of +8.1% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Chile (+16.4%), Colombia (+11.6%), Peru (+9.2%) and Argentina (+5.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Chile emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in MERCOSUR, with a CAGR of +16.4% from 2012-2021. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Chile and Colombia increased by +5 and +1.6 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Brazil ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported imines and their derivatives and salts thereof in MERCOSUR, comprising 78% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Chile ($X), with a 7.8% share of total imports. It was followed by Argentina, with a 6.7% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in Brazil stood at +9.8%. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Chile (+14.9% per year) and Argentina (+7.4% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in MERCOSUR amounted to $X per ton, picking up by 7.9% against the previous year. Overall, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 11% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices reached the peak figure at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Brazil ($X per ton), while Peru ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
