The following importers - Paraguay (X units), Argentina (X units) and Ecuador (X units) - together made up 8.9% of total imports.
Imports into Brazil increased at an average annual rate of +5.6% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Chile (+12.0%), Colombia (+5.7%) and Peru (+5.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Chile emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in MERCOSUR, with a CAGR of +12.0% from 2012-2021. Paraguay and Argentina experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Ecuador (-9.3%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Chile, Brazil and Colombia increased by +7.2, +4.5 and +2.2 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Brazil ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported instruments for dental sciences in MERCOSUR, comprising 45% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Chile ($X), with a 21% share of total imports. It was followed by Colombia, with a 13% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Brazil amounted to +11.9%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Chile (+5.7% per year) and Colombia (+5.7% per year).
