Ecuador (X units) took a 5.5% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Chile (5.2%) and Suriname (4.6%). Paraguay (X units), Argentina (X units) and Colombia (X units) held a minor share of total exports.
Brazil was also the fastest-growing in terms of the instruments for measuring electrical quantities exports, with a CAGR of +17.2% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Paraguay (+12.6%) and Chile (+9.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. Colombia and Ecuador experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Suriname (-4.0%) and Argentina (-22.4%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Brazil (+49 p.p.), Suriname (+4.6 p.p.), Paraguay (+2.4 p.p.) and Chile (+2.2 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2021, the share of Ecuador (-2.3 p.p.) and Argentina (-43.7 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Brazil ($X) remains the largest instruments for measuring electrical quantities supplier in MERCOSUR, comprising 79% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Chile ($X), with a 6.5% share of total exports. It was followed by Colombia, with a 6.4% share.
In Brazil, instruments for measuring electrical quantities exports expanded at an average annual rate of +8.2% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Chile (-0.9% per year) and Colombia (+11.0% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the export price in MERCOSUR amounted to $X per unit, with a decrease of -5.2% against the previous year. Overall, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 an increase of 36%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2017 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was Colombia ($X per unit), while Suriname ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Colombia (+10.5%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

Imports in MERCOSUR
After two years of decline, supplies from abroad of instruments for measuring electrical quantities increased by 29% to X units in 2021. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.9% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, instruments for measuring electrical quantities imports expanded to $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +1.1% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 13% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In 2021, Brazil (X units) was the main importer of instruments for measuring electrical quantities, making up 58% of total imports. Argentina (X units) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a 12% share, followed by Peru (10%) and Paraguay (9.1%). The following importers - Chile (X units) and Ecuador (X units) - each resulted at an 8.1% share of total imports.
Imports into Brazil increased at an average annual rate of +3.9% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Peru (+17.7%), Argentina (+8.8%) and Paraguay (+6.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Peru emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in MERCOSUR, with a CAGR of +17.7% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Chile (-1.4%) and Ecuador (-4.4%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Brazil (+9.6 p.p.), Peru (+7.3 p.p.), Argentina (+5.3 p.p.) and Paraguay (+3.2 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of Ecuador (-3 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Brazil ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported instruments for measuring electrical quantities in MERCOSUR, comprising 46% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Chile ($X), with an 18% share of total imports. It was followed by Argentina, with a 12% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Brazil totaled +2.1%. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Chile (+2.6% per year) and Argentina (-1.7% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in MERCOSUR amounted to $X per unit, which is down by -21.3% against the previous year. Overall, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 30% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2020, and then fell dramatically in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Chile ($X per unit), while Paraguay ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
