The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the production volume increased by 34%. As a result, production reached the peak level of $X. From 2020 to 2021, production growth failed to regain momentum.

Exports in MERCOSUR

Liquid supply meter exports surged to X units in 2021, jumping by 90% compared with 2020 figures. Total exports indicated a remarkable increase from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.5% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports increased by +110.2% against 2018 indices. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, liquid supply meter exports surged to $X in 2021. Total exports indicated modest growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +1.6% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Exports by Country

The shipments of the one major exporters of liquid supply or production meters, namely Brazil, represented more than two-thirds of total export.

Brazil was also the fastest-growing in terms of the liquid supply or production meters exports, with a CAGR of +5.7% from 2012 to 2021. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Brazil increased by +1.6 percentage points, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Brazil ($X) also remains the largest liquid supply meter supplier in MERCOSUR.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in Brazil totaled +2.0%.

Export Prices by Country

The export price in MERCOSUR stood at $X per unit in 2021, picking up by 13% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a noticeable curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 an increase of 26% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the maximum at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Brazil.

From 2012 to 2021, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Brazil amounted to -3.5% per year.

Liquid Supply Meter Imports

Imports in MERCOSUR

After three years of decline, purchases abroad of liquid supply or production meters increased by 12% to X units in 2021. Overall, imports enjoyed resilient growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 with an increase of 718%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X units in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, liquid supply meter imports soared to $X in 2021. In general, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports by Country

Paraguay dominates imports structure, reaching X units, which was near 68% of total imports in 2021. Colombia (X units) ranks second in terms of the total imports with an 8.3% share, followed by Peru (6.3%) and Brazil (6.2%). Chile (X units), Ecuador (X units) and Argentina (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to liquid supply meter imports into Paraguay stood at +8.5%. At the same time, Chile (+12.4%), Brazil (+6.1%), Colombia (+2.5%) and Peru (+1.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Chile emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in MERCOSUR, with a CAGR of +12.4% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Argentina (-1.1%) and Ecuador (-3.1%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Paraguay and Chile increased by +12 and +1.7 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Brazil ($X), Colombia ($X) and Argentina ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, together accounting for 63% of total imports. These countries were followed by Peru, Chile, Ecuador and Paraguay, which together accounted for a further 34%.

Paraguay, with a CAGR of +13.4%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

In 2021, the import price in MERCOSUR amounted to $X per unit, picking up by 8.7% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, saw a drastic downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 195% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices attained the peak figure at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Argentina ($X per unit), while Paraguay ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Argentina (+7.1%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the import price figures.
