The export price in MERCOSUR stood at $X per unit in 2021, shrinking by -47.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price saw a deep contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the export price increased by 271% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the peak figure at $X per unit in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Chile ($X per unit), while Brazil stood at $X per unit.

In general, imports continue to indicate a prominent increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 42% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum in 2021 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.

In value terms, grinding machine imports rose sharply to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, recorded a mild reduction. The following importers - Paraguay (X units), Peru (X units) and Argentina (X units) - together made up 8.7% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to grinding machine imports into Brazil stood at +9.7%. At the same time, Ecuador (+10.5%), Colombia (+9.9%), Paraguay (+9.4%), Chile (+8.4%) and Peru (+4.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Ecuador emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in MERCOSUR, with a CAGR of +10.5% from 2012-2021. Argentina experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the largest grinding machine importing markets in MERCOSUR were Brazil ($X), Argentina ($X) and Ecuador ($X), with a combined 66% share of total imports.

Among the main importing countries, Ecuador, with a CAGR of +21.5%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
