In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a abrupt slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 4.8%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Exports by Country
Brazil represented the key exporting country with an export of around X tons, which finished at 69% of total exports. Paraguay (X tons) held a 20% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Colombia (4.7%). Peru (X tons) held a minor share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to narrow woven fabric exports from Brazil stood at -8.2%. At the same time, Paraguay (+76.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Paraguay emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in MERCOSUR, with a CAGR of +76.9% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Colombia (-7.1%) and Peru (-14.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Paraguay (+19 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2021, the share of Peru (-2.6 p.p.) and Brazil (-17.9 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Brazil ($X) remains the largest narrow woven fabric supplier in MERCOSUR, comprising 65% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Colombia ($X), with a 14% share of total exports. It was followed by Paraguay, with an 8.9% share.
In Brazil, narrow woven fabric exports plunged by an average annual rate of -6.9% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Colombia (-6.2% per year) and Paraguay (+65.2% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The export price in MERCOSUR stood at $X per ton in 2021, growing by 14% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Colombia ($X per ton), while Paraguay ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Peru (+3.4%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Narrow woven fabric imports skyrocketed to X tons in 2021, picking up by 48% compared with 2020. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.1% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In 2021, Brazil (X tons) represented the key importer of narrow woven fabrics, committing 39% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Colombia (X tons), Chile (X tons), Peru (X tons), Argentina (X tons) and Ecuador (X tons), together generating a 54% share of total imports. Paraguay (X tons) held a relatively small share of total imports.
Imports into Brazil increased at an average annual rate of +6.0% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Peru (+10.6%), Paraguay (+7.4%), Ecuador (+7.2%), Chile (+6.4%) and Colombia (+4.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Peru emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in MERCOSUR, with a CAGR of +10.6% from 2012-2021. Argentina experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. While the share of Peru (+4.7 p.p.) and Brazil (+3.1 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of Argentina (-3.2 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Brazil ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported narrow woven fabrics in MERCOSUR, comprising 37% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Colombia ($X), with a 15% share of total imports. It was followed by Peru, with a 14% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Brazil totaled +1.4%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Colombia (+1.9% per year) and Peru (+6.3% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in MERCOSUR amounted to $X per ton, rising by 11% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a noticeable contraction. Over the period under review, import prices reached the maximum at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, major importing countries recorded the following prices: in Argentina ($X per ton) and Peru ($X per ton), while Colombia ($X per ton) and Chile ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
