In 2022, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in shipments abroad of non-household ventilation fans, when their volume decreased by -32.3% to X units. In general, exports saw a deep reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 54%. The volume of export peaked at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, non-household fan exports fell remarkably to $X in 2022. Overall, exports showed a deep downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 13% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Exports by Country

Brazil prevails in exports structure, recording X units, which was approx. 91% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Chile (X units), generating a 4.8% share of total exports.

Exports from Brazil decreased at an average annual rate of -15.0% from 2012 to 2022. Chile (-13.1%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Brazil (-2.4 p.p.) significantly weakened its position in terms of the total exports, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Brazil ($X) remains the largest non-household fan supplier in MERCOSUR, comprising 78% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Chile ($X), with a 12% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Brazil totaled -8.6%.

Export Prices by Country

The export price in MERCOSUR stood at $X per unit in 2022, jumping by 25% against the previous year. Overall, the export price showed a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 an increase of 41%. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Chile ($X per unit), while Brazil amounted to $X per unit.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Chile (+17.3%).

Imports in MERCOSUR

In 2022, the amount of non-household ventilation fans imported in MERCOSUR shrank notably to X units, which is down by -47.5% on the previous year. In general, imports recorded a perceptible setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 39%. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, non-household fan imports declined remarkably to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports recorded a pronounced contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 26% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then declined notably in the following year.

Imports by Country

Brazil represented the key importing country with an import of about X units, which amounted to 74% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Argentina (X units), comprising a 13% share of total imports. Peru (X units), Chile (X units) and Colombia (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to non-household fan imports into Brazil stood at -5.3%. At the same time, Peru (+2.7%) and Colombia (+1.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Peru emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in MERCOSUR, with a CAGR of +2.7% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Argentina (-4.3%) and Chile (-4.4%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Peru (+2.1 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Brazil saw its share reduced by -3.5% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Brazil ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported non-household ventilation fans in MERCOSUR, comprising 44% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Peru ($X), with a 13% share of total imports. It was followed by Argentina, with a 12% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Brazil amounted to -3.2%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Peru (-0.4% per year) and Argentina (-5.3% per year).

Import Prices by Country

The import price in MERCOSUR stood at $X per unit in 2022, increasing by 22% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.1%. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Colombia ($X per unit), while Brazil ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Brazil (+2.2%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the import price figures.
