The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 59%. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Peru ($X per unit), while Brazil ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Peru (+11.8%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Imports in MERCOSUR

Imports of non-woven, felt and coated textile garments expanded sharply to X units in 2021, surging by 11% compared with 2020 figures. Total imports indicated a measured expansion from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.9% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +111.9% against 2016 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 29% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports of hit record highs in 2021 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.

In value terms, imports of non-woven, felt and coated textile garments stood at $X in 2021. Total imports indicated a measured increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.0% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +84.9% against 2016 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 50%. The level of import peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In 2021, Chile (X units) was the main importer of non-woven, felt and coated textile garments, generating 44% of total imports. Brazil (X units) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a 20% share, followed by Peru (13%), Argentina (8.7%) and Venezuela (6.1%). Uruguay (X units) and Colombia (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Chile was also the fastest-growing in terms of the non-woven, felt and coated textile garments imports, with a CAGR of +14.9% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Peru (+10.2%), Uruguay (+7.5%), Venezuela (+5.5%) and Brazil (+1.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Colombia experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Argentina (-11.3%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period.
