Brazil represented the main exporting country with an export of around X units, which accounted for 76% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Colombia (X units) and Chile (X units), together generating a 20% share of total exports. Argentina (X units) held a little share of total exports.

In Brazil, overhead travelling crane exports shrank by an average annual rate of -12.5% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Chile (-11.8% per year) and Argentina (-8.4% per year).

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 51%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

Brazil (X units) and Colombia (X units) represented roughly 65% of total imports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Peru (X units), Chile (X units), Argentina (X units) and Paraguay (X units), together creating a 27% share of total imports. Suriname (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Colombia (with a CAGR of +23.1%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest overhead travelling crane importing markets in MERCOSUR were Brazil ($X), Peru ($X) and Colombia ($X), together comprising 69% of total imports. Paraguay, Argentina, Chile and Suriname lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 24%.

Among the main importing countries, Paraguay, with a CAGR of +16.8%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the import price in MERCOSUR amounted to $X per unit, falling by -6.4% against the previous year. In general, the import price continues to indicate a perceptible curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when the import price increased by 105% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
