In value terms, electric filament lamp parts exports surged to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 94% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Exports by Country

Brazil was the key exporting country with an export of about X tons, which amounted to 67% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Chile (X tons), constituting a 24% share of total exports. The following exporters - Argentina (X kg) and Peru (X kg) - each recorded a 7.5% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to electric filament lamp parts exports from Brazil stood at -3.5%. At the same time, Chile (+84.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Chile emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in MERCOSUR, with a CAGR of +84.5% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Argentina (-7.6%) and Peru (-15.6%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Chile (+24 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Argentina and Peru saw its share reduced by -1.8% and -8.2% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In Brazil, electric filament lamp parts exports decreased by an average annual rate of -2.9% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Chile (+65.6% per year) and Peru (-4.7% per year).

In 2021, the export price in MERCOSUR amounted to $X per ton, jumping by 17% against the previous year. Export price indicated a tangible increase from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.5% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, electric filament lamp parts export price decreased by -7.9% against 2018 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when the export price increased by 57% against the previous year. In 2021, supplies from abroad of parts for electric filament or discharge lamps increased by 60% to X tons, rising for the fifth year in a row after three years of decline. Overall, imports, however, showed a slight reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 335% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

Venezuela was the major importing country with an import of around X tons, which resulted at 62% of total imports. Brazil (X tons) took the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by Ecuador (X tons) and Chile (X tons). All these countries together took approx. 31% share of total imports. The following importers - Colombia (X tons) and Peru (X tons) - each reached a 5.5% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to electric filament lamp parts imports into Venezuela stood at +9.7%. At the same time, Chile (+18.8%) and Peru (+8.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Chile emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in MERCOSUR, with a CAGR of +18.8% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Ecuador (-3.7%), Brazil (-9.7%) and Colombia (-19.3%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Venezuela (+37 p.p.) and Chile (+3.6 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of Ecuador (-1.5 p.p.), Colombia (-15.2 p.p.) and Brazil (-26.8 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

The second position in the ranking was held by Ecuador ($X), with a 14% share of total imports. It was followed by Chile, with a 9.4% share.

In Brazil, electric filament lamp parts imports shrank by an average annual rate of -17.6% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Ecuador (-0.7% per year) and Chile (-0.2% per year).
