Among the main exporting countries, Peru, with a CAGR of +45.1%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
The export price in MERCOSUR stood at $X per ton in 2021, which is down by -30.7% against the previous year. Overall, the export price continues to indicate a mild setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 an increase of 17% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2020, and then reduced dramatically in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was Peru ($X per ton), while Uruguay ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Uruguay (-1.7%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Imports in MERCOSUR
Persimmon imports dropped sharply to X tons in 2021, which is down by -29.2% on the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a moderate increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 when imports increased by 55% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2020 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

Moreover, Paraguay emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in MERCOSUR, with a CAGR of +70.6% from 2012-2021. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Paraguay increased by +2.6 percentage points.
