The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 83%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tons. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, playing cards exports soared to $X in 2022. Total exports indicated slight growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +1.6% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +110.4% against 2020 indices. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Exports by Country
Brazil dominates exports structure, amounting to X tons, which was near 89% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Chile (X tons), mixing up a 5.2% share of total exports. Peru (X tons) and Argentina (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to playing cards exports from Brazil stood at +4.2%. At the same time, Peru (+23.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Peru emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in MERCOSUR, with a CAGR of +23.6% from 2012-2022. The export price in MERCOSUR stood at $X per ton in 2022, therefore, remained relatively stable against the previous year. Overall, the export price continues to indicate a slight decline. In 2022, the amount of playing cards imported in MERCOSUR soared to X tons, picking up by 19% on the previous year's figure. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.6% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 24%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

Ecuador (X tons), Chile (X tons), Peru (X tons), Brazil (X tons) and Colombia (X tons) represented roughly 86% of total imports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Argentina (X tons), creating a 4.8% share of total imports. Uruguay (X tons) took a relatively small share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main importing countries, was attained by Argentina (with a CAGR of +27.9%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Chile ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported playing cards in MERCOSUR, comprising 65% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Brazil ($X), with a 12% share of total imports. It was followed by Peru, with a 6% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Chile amounted to +21.8%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Brazil (+9.6% per year) and Peru (+2.7% per year).
