From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Peru (with a CAGR of +13.2%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced a decline in the exports figures.
In value terms, Colombia ($X), Peru ($X) and Chile ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2021, together comprising 95% of total exports.
Among the main exporting countries, Peru, with a CAGR of +0.5%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced a decline in the exports figures.
Export Prices by Country
The export price in MERCOSUR stood at $X per ton in 2021, which is down by -6.5% against the previous year. Overall, the export price saw a deep setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 16% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Chile ($X per ton), while Peru ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Chile (+2.0%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

In 2021, overseas purchases of printed or illustrated postcards and printed cards were finally on the rise to reach X tons after two years of decline. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a deep contraction. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country
In 2021, Brazil (X tons) represented the largest importer of printed or illustrated postcards and printed cards, generating 40% of total imports. Chile (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a 17% share, followed by Peru (13%), Guyana (9.7%), Ecuador (7.1%) and Colombia (5.4%). Argentina (X tons) took a little share of total imports.
Imports into Brazil decreased at an average annual rate of -8.3% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Guyana (+7.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Guyana emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in MERCOSUR, with a CAGR of +7.2% from 2012-2021. Chile experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Argentina (-1.2%), Peru (-6.1%), Ecuador (-12.2%) and Colombia (-17.3%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Chile (+10 p.p.), Guyana (+7.5 p.p.), Brazil (+3.7 p.p.) and Peru (+3.4 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of Ecuador (-2.4 p.p.) and Colombia (-7 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, the largest postcard importing markets in MERCOSUR were Brazil ($X), Chile ($X) and Guyana ($X), with a combined 68% share of total imports.
Guyana, with a CAGR of +11.0%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced a decline in the imports figures.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in MERCOSUR amounted to $X per ton, approximately mirroring the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 18% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices attained the maximum at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Chile ($X per ton), while Argentina ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
